What are generics

What are generics?

Generics are special medicines with well-proven and non-patented active substances that are offered at reduced prices.

However, the identical composition alone is not proof that a generic product possesses the same efficacy as that from the initial supplier. The therapeutic efficacy is determined by how the active substance from the respective formula is released, how it is absorbed, in what concentrations it exists at its target site and how it is metabolised or excreted. The therapeutic efficacy depends on bioavailability. Bioavailability studies have verified the bioequivalence with a standard preparation that has already been licensed. The experimental design of this bioavailability test is fixed by international standards. It is evaluated by means of complicated, statistical procedures. The decision with regard to bioequivalence is made mostly in accordance with the strict guidelines of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

The quality of the products and their batch continuity and batch conformity are guaranteed by ongoing tests of the manufacturers and the authorities.  Modern manufacturing techniques are state-of-the-art and optimize costs.

For Genericon the development of generics also means the further development of proven specialist medicines. Genericon has already implemented this for the well-being of patients in several cases.

And, of course, our generics are inexpensive. We are aware of our responsibility.
